An RSS feed (or news feed) is a means by which you can stay informed about what's going on at Edinburgh Police Choir without having to regularly visit the website.
To make use of an RSS feed, you need some "feed reader" (or "aggregator") software. Most modern web browsers have feed readers built in.
The RSS feeds for Edinburgh Police Choir are listed below...
If you would like to join EPC, please email us in the first instance on edinburghpolicechoir@gmail.com. You will be invited to one of our rehearsals to meet the choir and see how we do things.
We do run occasional open nights which are ideal for new-comers, so look out for them. At any other rehearsal, you would be invited to join in the warm-up and any new songs we are learning if you want to. Otherwise you can just listen to us.
If you like what you see, you will set a date for you to do a voice test with our Musical Director and one of our Section Leads. This may sound a little scary but there really isn’t much to it and we’re all very supportive! You’ll be asked to sing a bit of a song of your own choice, with or without music, sing some scales (to assess your range) and take part in a short call and response exercise. You and we will then know you are in the right section and that you’ll enjoy our music.
Our subscription is currently £20 per month, payable by standing order. You will also be given access to the members area of this website.
Initially you will be a ‘pre-active’ member of the choir, while you learn our songs to a good-enough standard to be able to perform. We do sing off-score and you are expected to take some time to be performance-ready – the journey is the fun part and you are supported throughout.
You do not need to be able to read music – some can, some can’t, but we do use sheet music for the words. Audio learning tracks are provided on our website and that is how many of us learn.
